The first food industry review from DFCL, the mid-market corporate finance specialist, looks at levels of M&A activity between 2005 and 2010 using data from Zephyr. Among other findings, it shows a significant volume of transactions were completed in the £1m to £10m range – suggesting the demand for smaller food companies continues to be strong.

EVCA Activity Indicator Q3 2010

This EVCA release reveals data on investment, exits and fundraising activity in European private equity and venture capital over the third quarter. It shows that growth capital and smaller buyout deals increased, amid a generally stable private equity and venture capital investment environment.

EVCA 2010 Nordic Report

The EVCA 2010 Nordic report shows that, in comparison with the second half of 2009, private equity and venture capital investment increased 23 per cent by value and 25 per cent by number of companies during the first half of 2010, with a strong life sciences base attracting private equity and venture capital.
